Give every player a clear starting role

A 7v7 lineup has one goalkeeper and six outfield players. The starting 2-3-1 shape places two defenders behind three midfielders and a forward. Add names and shirt numbers to show your youth or grassroots team where to start; the diagram is a reference for positions, not a limit on movement.

Compare cover, width and support

Switch to 3-2-1 to place another player in the back line, or try 2-2-2 for two forwards. The builder carries your named players into the new shape so you can review the assignments. Read the formation guide for the trade-offs before choosing a setup for your players.

Prepare the bench before kick-off

Add your remaining players below the pitch and select who appears on the bench graphic. Save a browser draft for later changes, then export a PNG to attach to the team chat. The image records your selected starters and substitutes; it does not manage playing time or substitution rules.

Using the 7-a-side builder

Does seven include the goalkeeper?

Yes. There are seven starting positions: one goalkeeper and six outfield players. The numbers in 2-3-1 describe only the outfield players.

Can I compare 7v7 shapes without retyping names?

Yes. Open Setup and choose 2-3-1, 3-2-1 or 2-2-2. Your players carry across; check the positions after switching and swap players on the pitch if needed.

Can I prepare different lineups for the next match?

Save each lineup as a browser draft, or duplicate one to make another version. Drafts stay in the browser where you saved them. Export each version as a PNG to share it.
