Set out the full starting XI

Start with four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards in a 4-3-3, plus the goalkeeper. Enter names and shirt numbers for all eleven positions. Choose a team name and kit colours to make the lineup recognisable in a match-day message.

Review seven full-size formations

The 11v11 options are 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2, 3-4-2-1, 4-1-4-1 and 4-4-1-1. Changing formation rearranges the starting positions while carrying across your players. Review the resulting roles and swap assignments to suit the team.

Keep starters and the match-day bench together

Add the rest of your squad below the pitch, mark the selected substitutes and show the bench when exporting. Save a draft before making a second selection for another fixture. The PNG is a team graphic; check your competition’s requirements if you also need an official team sheet.

Using the 11-a-side builder

Does a starting XI include the goalkeeper?

Yes. An 11v11 starting XI contains one goalkeeper and ten outfield players. The four, three and three in 4-3-3 are the outfield lines.

Can I switch from 4-3-3 to a back three?

Yes. Open Setup and select 3-5-2 or 3-4-2-1. Both are available alongside five formations with a back four. Check your player assignments after changing shape.

Can I send a link that opens my saved starting XI?

Saved lineups stay in your browser. Export a PNG and attach it to your message to send the actual lineup. The share buttons send a link to PickLineup, not to your saved draft.
